This short video explores how a FTSE 100 airline looked to drive better decision making, effective planning, improved estimations and smarter resourcing through the implementation of project portfolio management.

The business faced a number of key issues associated with rapid growth including:

  • No clear view of what their people were working on
  • Poor at estimating time on projects and programmes
  • Managing Resourcing risks was challenging
  • No consistent process for tracking demand
  • Back-door projects with no PMO visibility or control
  • Prioritisation was not based on factual data

The objective of the implementation was to provide the Portfolio Office and management teams across the airline with greater visibility of resourcing effort across their programme and project portfolio to aid better decision making.
