The PMO Outlook Report - 2021 Edition

This report represents the findings from an online survey of 16 questions posed to project managers and portfolio management leaders from September through November 2020. This report was conducted by KeyedIn, a leading provider of SaaS-based project portfolio management software and services. A total of 213 individuals representing project and portfolio management functions within enterprise organizations, responded to the survey, including project managers, program managers, project management office leaders, heads of IT and CIOs.

Key findings from the report:

• 75% of projects are not well aligned with strategic business priorities
• 81% of survey respondents stated they don't have enough resources to meet demand
• 21% of respondents said visibility and reporting was their biggest challenge
• 45% of respondents that said resource management was their biggest business challenge stated that capacity planning was the most challenging element
